Public vs Private Replies
So you've set up your network, added your members, and sent out a few notes. Once the replies start coming in, you might be wondering, "Are these messages private? Who can see what? What's private and what's public?" Rest assured, we've got you covered with a full guide to public vs private replies (also known as comments). Who can see what?
Super Admins: They can see all replies (even private) for the whole network.
Group Admins: They can see all replies (even private) for the groups they are an admin for.
Note Senders & Members: They can only see replies sent directly to them or public replies.
Public vs Private Replies
- If you DO NOT allow public comments on your note, Flocknote's blue reply button will not appear at the bottom of notes sent as emails. The member will need to use their regular email provider's reply button and those replies will be private. All replies sent directly through text will be private.
- If you DO allow public comments on your note, a blue reply button will appear at the bottom of notes sent as emails. If members click on it, it will open up the note in a new page with a space on the right-hand side where they can type their response and click the green 'Post' button. They still always have the option to keep replies private by checking that little box in the bottom left of the text box (see below). All replies sent directly through text will still be private.

When crafting each of your notes, you'll want to double check your settings by clicking the Comments button at the bottom of the note composer. Keep reading or watch this in action HERE!

You'll notice that the text version of the note composer has a box where you can also check 'Include link'. By checking this box, anyone who receives your note as a text will also receive a link to the note. If a member clicks this, it will open the note in their mobile browser. From there, the member has the option to view and leave public replies from their phone just like someone receiving the note as an email.
