Working with Groups
This guide is for Super Admins and Group Admins: Super Admins can create, arrange, and delete groups as needed. Group Admins can create subgroups only under the groups for which they have admin access. See more details below!
In this guide:
How to create a new group as a Super Admin
On the left-hand sidebar, click Group Communication. Then, click the "+ New" button beneath your groups within this light blue nesting box.
📱 Note for those working from a mobile device: If you are working on your phone and do not see the option to Manage Groups, try rotating your device! Or, if one is available, feel free to work from a desktop or laptop. That should bring that tab right up. 👍
You can then name the group and adjust the settings. If you aren't sure what some of the settings control, check out this help article that discusses each field of the settings in detail.

You can also create a group by clicking on the "ALL" button beneath your groups within this light blue box. Then click "+ Create Group" on your All Groups page.

P.S. You can also create groups through our Signups feature by creating a Signup and clicking Create Linked Groups on the right-hand column. When a member signs up, they will automatically be added to that group. Learn more HERE.

Next, hover over the group you would like to move until the up and down arrows appear. Click and hold the arrows. Then drag the group to the correct place.
How to send a note to part of a group?
Watch this video to learn how to use the Filter & Bulk Action Tool to send a note to part of a group. This is perfect when you need to leave one or a few members out of receiving a note. For more detailed info and uses of this particular tool, check out the articles at the bottom of the page.
Additional Subgroup Information
- You can have unlimited Mid-Level Groups under a single Top-Level Group, and you can have unlimited Bottom-Level Groups under a single Mid-Level Group.
- If you make a Top-Level Group or a Mid-Level Group Closed or Hidden, then all subgroups of that group that do not already have a stricter privacy setting will also become Closed or Hidden.
- To rearrange existing subgroups, click, hold, and drag the handles icon (looks like up and down arrows) to the far right-hand side of the group name. This will allow you to reorder groups within the same subgroup hierarchy or to reorder subgroup hierarchies with each other.
